Our Approach

Therapy

Shining New Light believes in the transformational experience and power therapy brings. Our goal is to help our clients who are struggling with mental health, behavioral issues and substance abuse access all available resources needed to advocate on their behalf and to focus on their physical and mental wellbeing.

We provide counseling services to adults struggling with:

Depression

Mood disorder that causes persistent feelings of sadness and loss of interest. It affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical patterns and problems. 

Trauma

A response to an event that a person finds highly stressful. Examples include being in a war zone, a natural disaster, or an accident. Trauma can cause a wide range of physical and emotional symptoms.

Substance Abuse

Disease that affects a person's brain and behavior. An inability to control the use of legal or illegal drugs, medicine, alcohol. Can cause consequences such as repeated absences from work, school, arrests, and social/marital difficulties.

Anxiety

A pattern of excessive worry about a variety of issues on most days for at least six months, often accompanied by physical symptoms, such as muscle tension, increased heart rate, or dizziness.

Bi-Polar Disorder

 Illness characterized by extreme mood swings.

They can include extreme excitement episodes or extreme depressive feelings that can each last from days to weeks.

Adjustment Disorder

Emotional or behavioral reaction to a stressful event or change in a person’s life. The reaction is recurring and is  considered an unhealthy or excessive response to the event or change.

 PTSD

Condition that develops after a traumatic event. It is triggered by intrusive thoughts about the incident, causes recurrent distress/anxiety, flashbacks  and avoidance of similar situations.

Anger Management

Intense emotional state involving a strong non-cooperative response to a perceived hurt or threat. Becomes a problem when you have trouble controlling it, causing you to say or do things you regret.

ADHD

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is marked by an ongoing pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with functioning or development.

Services

We offer care to patients based on an understanding of their physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual dimensions. Our patient education focuses on lifestyle changes and self-care approaches that promote health and wellness. Our holistic health care fosters life enrichment activities, restorative therapy and healing circles. 

Additional Services

Safety Net Program

Shining New Light's Safety Net Program assists individuals in obtaining emergency financial, nutrition and short term housing assistance. 

Day Program & Psychoeducational Services

Every individual brings unique talents and skills to our program, and our goal at Shinning New Light Therapy and Wellness Center is to maximize and channel each characteristic in a way that benefits sustained long term healing and a healthy productive lifestyle. Our daily schedule includes evidence-based individual and group therapy sessions complemented by holistic and creative therapies. Sessions are tailored and combined strategically and creatively to benefit each clients' needs with respect to each particular behavior health and/or mental health disorder challenges.

We accept Access Native American Health Plan (AHCCS)  and fee for services per session for our therapy services
